Syncing information to/from device

Syncing information to/from device

What is Sync?

Sync is the act of pushing or pulling information to and from the Control Center.

Before you sync, make sure to read up on how permissions are looked at by the mobile app. You can read that piece here.

In order to sync the data with the Control Center to the device, first pin into the app.

Then select the Menu button in the top right corner of the screen.

On this next screen, you have 3 options for syncing.

Note: Syncing can also be accomplish by clicking on the Menu button on the pin screen, after which the 3 different syncing options will be presented.

1.This option will send your records from the device to the Control Center.

Push Sync sends all the stored Time, Forms and Assets information on the device to the Control Center.

Push Sync needs to be done with a good connection as well. When sending information to the Control Center with poor or low connection will cause the sync to fail or only send over partial information. The information will not be lost and can be resent when in good service.  All required fields in a form must be completed before syncing/sending a Form to the control center.

2.This option sends data from your Control Center to the device.

Pull Sync pulls information from the Control Center to the devices such as Locations, Tasks, Employees and any other information the device has Permissions to. If a Pull Sync is interrupted or failed, it will not pull all the information to the device. Causing errors when trying to search locations, task or employees or trying to Pin-in. When available to connect to a good WiFi connection. Close the app completely, reopen the app and do a Pull Sync. When completed do a Push Sync to send over any stored information on the device.

  3. This will do both option 1 and 2 at the same time

There is also the option of turning on the "Auto Push" and "Auto Pull" settings.

Note: Your records will only be able to sync at the time that you are connected to a network.

Good internet connection; NOT BARS (Wireless connection)

If a record has NOT been pushed due to no network or bad connection, close and restart the app with a good connection. With Auto Sync the time record will try to sync when it is created. Then it will attempt to sync the record next time a new "real-time clock-in/clock-out" is created on the device or when the app is next started on the loading screen. The "Auto Pull" setting runs when you start the app as long as you have a network connection.

In order to turn on the Auto Push or Auto Pull feature on the phone, you will need to go to settings through the Menu.

1: Auto-Push, when turned on, will Sync records at the time a new Time Record is created, **Please note that a good WIFI or Data connection is required for this option.

2: Auto-Pull when you have this feature on every time the app is started on that device it will do a Pull Sync on the loading screen. You will need input how often you want the device to pull in minutes. This can take a minute to perform.  **Please note that a good WIFI or Data connection is required for this option.  Without this, it can cause problems with being able to open the app.

3: After changing push/pull settings, make sure to click save in the top right of the screen.

How Long Will Time and Forms Last on the Device?
