Shift Rules

Shift Rules - To create a new set of shift rules click New and complete the following fields: Note that you MUST select the Use Shift box before you can enter a Start Time or End Time.

1.  Name of Shift. Note that we can have multiple shift rule sets to apply to employees, jobs, unions, and companies through our pay groups.

2.  Set shift rule to Active or Inactive. (You can have anywhere between one and three shifts active at a time. Check the "Use Shift' box to start using the selected shift rule.)

3.  Set a start and stop time for the shift, as well as set your float length, in minutes. The float will make it so, if your shift starts at 7:00 AM, and you enter 10 minute float, then any punches from 6:50 AM on will be included in that shift. You can also check the Enforced box. By selecting the Enforced box for the Start Time, the employees will not begin accruing hours until the specified time, regardless or when they punch in. Checking Enforce for the End Time will automatically clock the employees out at the specified time.

4.  This is where you set the Auto Lunch Rule. To enable auto lunch, check the Use Lunch box, and fill out the requisite fields. The first field, labeled Min. Hours, how long an employee must work before qualifying to receive a lunch break. The Time to Deduct fields indicate how much time will be deducted. The last option will be to specify whether you want a Time Specified Lunch, or simply an End Day Deduction. If Time Specified Lunch then we also need to enter at what time the lunch break should begin.
